Your skin care starts the day you are born. As you grow, you learn several skin care beauty tips every day, without even realizing. From our own experience, we have compiled some of these simple yet effective skin care beauty tips for your body, hair and face.
We cannot emphasize enough on the importance of cleansing. Your skin is exposed to a lot of impurities throughout the day besides the make-up. You need to clean it morning and night. Just remember to use lukewarm water, instead of hot or cold, to wash your face. Another good tip is to use virgin coconut oil as a night cleanser. Coconut oil has essential fatty acids and also has antimicrobial properties. Gently rub some coconut oil onto your face in circular motion and then wipe off with a warm towel. It’s healthy and safe to do every night.
Exfoliation removes dead skin cells and helps in new cell regeneration. The organic face care products that you apply, work more effectively when there is no barrier of the dead skin cells and clogged pores on the skin. ‘Ubtan’ used in Indian households is an effective and tested recipe for exfoliating. To prepare, mix 1 cup gram flour (chickpea flour) with ¼ cup rice flour, ½ cup oatmeal, a pinch of turmeric and some water. Make a smooth paste and apply all over body and face. Once dry, wash off with lukewarm water. Do this once or twice a week and see the difference!
Our bodies constantly lose water through sweat and urine. When the fluids are not replaced on time, our organs become dehydrated. Considering skin is the largest organ of our body, it’s no surprise that our face starts looking dull and tired.
We wish there was a formula to calculate that drinking how much water is enough. But there is no set rule. It all depends on your body weight and the number of activities you do. Just make it a habit to drink water at regular intervals. For a tip, I can tell you that try adding some citrus fruit (orange or lemon slices) or favorite herb (rosemary or mint) to it! Even plain cucumber slices added to your water bottle can encourage you to drink more!
4. Don’t forget your sunscreen:
There is no point in doing any of the mentioned above if you don’t use SPF. It protects you from harmful UV rays and prevents early wrinkles and free radical damage that cause skin cancer. Always use one that is broad spectrum and has an SPF higher than 15. Tip: If it leaves a bit of a white residue, try adding a few drops of a liquid luminizer, bronzer, or even face tint to avoid that whole ghostly look. Visit here for Baby’s Health.
5. Avoid touching your face:
Either with your hands or your phone. Yup! The phone screen has a lot of dirt and bacteria on it and so could your hands. These can get transferred to your face and create clogged pores.
Scratching your pimples can spread the infection to other parts of your face through your fingernails. Picking can lead to scarring and blemishes. Avoid itching your face. Here’s an easy face mask recipe that’s cooling and soothing. Grate 1 small cucumber and mix with 2-3 tablespoons of yogurt. Apply it on your face and neck for 5 mins and then rinse off. You will feel instantly replenished and rejuvenated.
When you exercise, your body pumps more blood, which improves the circulation of oxygen and nutrients throughout the body, including your skin. So naturally, it brings out a healthy glow on your face. For a quick glow try the downward dog position!
7. Watch your diet:
Eating oily, greasy, sugary foods can lead to bad skin conditions. Skin is the outermost layer of your body. Whatever goes in the body, gets reflected on your skin. Conditions like acne flare up with bad food choices.
It’s just not bacteria that causes them. Reduce your intake of sugar, hydrogenated oils, sodium and synthetic flavorings as much as possible…just not for your skin, but for the overall health of your body.
These very simple and basic skin care beauty tips are easy to follow and incorporate in your lifestyle.
